MochiNyan builds a pack of 10 phrases you haven't seen yet — ordered by difficulty — from the card pack you pick (Daily, Travel, Office, JLPT). Switching packs or viewing more cards brings up new phrases.
Daily Challenge unlocks when you've marked 5 or more words as "I know it" in today's cards. It can be played once per day — after you complete it, the entry appears as "Done" until the next day.
For each word, getting 3 questions right in Daily Challenge unlocks that card's image in your collection. Since one question per word appears each day, cards fill up gradually over multiple days.
MochiNyan uses iOS on-device TTS (AVSpeechSynthesizer). Installing a high-quality Japanese voice improves the sound significantly. In iOS Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → Japanese, download an "Enhanced" or "Premium" voice.
Yes. MochiNyan syncs card content and collection progress through Apple iCloud (CloudKit). You must be signed in to iCloud in iOS Settings for the app to work properly.
No. A gentle reminder arrives at most once per day, only at a time you set yourself. You can turn it off anytime in MY tab → Notification Settings.
Email us with the subject "Data deletion request" and we'll process it within 7 days. All your data — collection progress, bookmarks, learning records — will be permanently deleted.
MochiNyan does not collect any personal information. The app uses only an anonymous identifier through your Apple iCloud account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information.

We do not sell or share collected information with any third parties.
Your learning records (confused words, learned words, bookmarks) and collection progress are stored in Apple CloudKit's Private Database, governed by Apple's privacy policies. Only you, through your Apple ID, can access this data.
MochiNyan uses only local notifications (scheduled on-device). Remote push (APNs) is not used. Notifications work only when you've explicitly enabled them and set a time, with a maximum of one notification per day.
You can request data deletion via the email above. We process requests within 7 days. Uninstalling the app immediately deletes local data (SwiftData); iCloud data is handled according to Apple ID policies.
This policy may be updated. When changes occur, we'll post a notice in the app and on this page.
